Reviews From Our Customers
What customers say after the service visit.
"Can’t begin to say enough about our positive experience with Tate Builders Supply. Fourteen years ago we visited their show room looking for a fireplace costing $8,000, but the salesman, Tim Duncan, suggested a lower costing brand. It has been just wonderful all these years. Embarrassing we have not had the fireplace serviced until today. Jimmy did a wonderful job. He showed us several things about the fireplace we never knew, like that there are ambient lights in the rear. I highly recommend Tate Building Supply and their employees."

"Tate Builders did a phenomenal job working on my natural gas fireplace. I could not be happier! They promptly scheduled my appointment, diagnosed and fixed the problem within 30 minutes, cleaned the fireplace to make it look like new, added some aesthetic charm, charged me an exceptionally reasonable rate, and Jim could not have been better to work with. He was professional and courteous and took the time to educate me about my fireplace as he was working. Perfect experience all around. I will absolutely go back to them again for regular maintenance and any further issues."
Megan Mersch · Google Review
"I can’t say enough good things about Jim. He took on a gas fireplace repair that another company said they couldn’t do but would require a full replacement ($15k +). Jim not only got my existing one working, but fought through some issues he was facing while doing it into the late evening hours at an incredibly reasonable price. I am ever grateful for Jim and Tate Builder’s Supply. Highly recommended - thank you SO much! !!"
Aaron Fields · Google Review
"What a pleasant surprise. We needed our gas fireplace to be serviced and cleaned. Jim of Tate Supply came by this morning and did an outstanding job, including teaching us a little about our 25-year-old Gas Fireplace. It's great to see care and job well done. Thanks Jim."

Common Questions About Fireplace Service & Repair
Plain-language answers from the team that does the work.
Call Now
Do you service fireplaces you didn't sell or install?
Yes. We service and repair gas, wood, pellet, and electric units on every make we carry. If you're not sure whether yours is one of them, call us with the manufacturer and model, and we'll tell you.
What should I have ready when I schedule?
The manufacturer and model if you can find them, the fuel type, and a plain description of what the unit is doing and when it started. That's enough for our team to come prepared.
How often should a fireplace be serviced?
Most manufacturers recommend an annual inspection and cleaning, ideally before the heating season. It's the easiest way to catch small problems before they become cold-night emergencies.
Can you convert my wood-burning fireplace to gas?
Yes. A gas log set or a gas insert turns an open masonry fireplace into one-switch fire. Tell us about your fireplace, and we'll recommend the right option and install it to code.
Ready to Replace It Instead?
Sometimes the repair quote makes the decision for you. Price a new unit installed in about a minute, or see one on your own wall before you choose.
