Wood Heat That Runs Like a Furnace
Why Choose a Pellet Stove
A pellet stove burns compressed hardwood pellets fed automatically from a hopper—set the thermostat, and it manages the fire for you, hour after hour.
It's the practical middle ground: renewable fuel and real warmth, without tending a firebox. Pour in a bag, empty a small ash pan weekly, done.
We size them to the room, install the venting, and service what we sell—augers, boards, blowers and all.

What the Tri-State Says
Reviews From Our Customers
What customers say after the work is done.
"Can’t begin to say enough about our positive experience with Tate Builders Supply. Fourteen years ago we visited their show room looking for a fireplace costing $8,000, but the salesman, Tim Duncan, suggested a lower costing brand. It has been just wonderful all these years. Embarrassing we have not had the fireplace serviced until today. Jimmy did a wonderful job. He showed us several things about the fireplace we never knew, like that there are ambient lights in the rear. I highly recommend Tate Building Supply and their employees."

"Tate Builders did a phenomenal job working on my natural gas fireplace. I could not be happier! They promptly scheduled my appointment, diagnosed and fixed the problem within 30 minutes, cleaned the fireplace to make it look like new, added some aesthetic charm, charged me an exceptionally reasonable rate, and Jim could not have been better to work with. He was professional and courteous and took the time to educate me about my fireplace as he was working. Perfect experience all around. I will absolutely go back to them again for regular maintenance and any further issues."
Megan Mersch · Google Review
"Tate Builders did an absolutely fantastic job repairing my chimney and replacement my entire fireplace. The work was extensive and my family and I were amazed at how efficient they worked. Within two days, 95% of the work was done! Plus, the men were kind and friendly around my family and that was very surprising. I couldn't recommend Tate Builders more highly!"

Common Questions About Pellet Stoves
Plain-language answers, including the one about price.
Call Now
How does a pellet stove work?
You fill the hopper with compressed wood pellets, set the thermostat, and the stove feeds itself and runs the fans. A full hopper typically runs for many hours before you refill it.
Does a pellet stove need a chimney?
No traditional chimney. Pellet stoves vent through a small pipe out a wall or the roof, which keeps installation simpler than a wood stove.
Where do I get pellets?
Bagged pellets are sold widely across the tri-state. Ask our team at your appointment, and we'll point you to what runs best in the model you choose.
